Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is a community-based program supported by the National Sheriff's Association. Since its inception in 1972, thousands of communities across the nation have established Neighborhood Watch in their neighborhoods and have made a real difference in public safety.

Business Watch

Business Watch is a free crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of business citizens in cooperation with law enforcement and the City to reduce crime in our community. The program assists business owners and their employees with crime prevention techniques and strategies that can be used to help reduce business-related crime.

CERT

The Antelope Valley Community Emergency Response Team (AV CERT) provides disaster preparedness training to the public on the hazards that may impact our desert & rural communities.  Trained in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search & rescue, team organization, amateur radio, and disaster medical operations, our civilian volunteer teams throughout the Antelope Valley provide critical auxiliary support to emergency services personnel during emergencies & disasters and help to increase the Antelope Valley's overall level of disaster readiness.

Lancaster Community Appreciation Project (LAN-CAP)

This specialized team of dedicated deputies and a sergeant works to help patrol and reduce crime in rental properties, as well as work with rental managers and property owners to address unique needs and areas needing attention as regards to crime prevention. The City's Public Safety Office, in conjunction with LAN-CAP deputies, conducts specialized training courses for rental operators within the City, focusing on such areas as screening of tenancy applicants and crime prevention.
